    [38 pages] Here's an interesting course that also happened to be advertised in the back of IRON MAN magazine:

    "CORRECT BALANCE is the most important fundamental in Ju Jitsu. Plate 1 illustrates 100-lb. girl throwing a man weighing 200-lbs. this does not take muscle --it takes technique.

    Regardless of your weight or level of strength, you can easily balance a 200-lb. man on your buttock seat.

    If you do it right you will hardly realize he is even resting on you. Balance conquers weight. Always remember this concept because it is very important."...keep reading

    [16 pages] Alan Calvert kickstarted weightlifting in the United States when he established the Milo Bar Bell Company in the early 20th century. Calvert provided equipment but also -- and just as important -- the training literature to go with it in order to educate the public on the proper methods to build strength, and the results thereof. 1. The Clean and Jerk Weightlifting Program
    The Clean and Jerk Weightlifting Program

    The Age Group Clean and Jerk Program is an effort by the Amateur Athletic Union of the U. S. to present a simplified version of the sport of Weightlifting which will appeal especially to coaches of high schools and colleges, as well as to their students. It has been simplified in order to make it easy to organize and produce frequent weightlifting contests in high schools and colleges as a competitive school sport.

    It has been observed that although most colleges and many high schools do now have some weightlifting activity, it is still very limited and usually stimulated by the intense enthusiasm of a few students and some coaches who wish such competition. It has been found that such contests on the three Olympic lifts or even the three Power Lifts, involve requirements in equipment and personnel and a great knowledge of rules and regulations which causes many coaches to back away from a very interesting and valuable sport....keep reading

    STRENGTH TRAINING - The Present State of The Art &##x28;1974&##x29;

    [20 pages] "Early attempts to build an airplane failed because the builders did not understand the basic requirements of flight...today, many forms of exercise fail for much the same reason' because the designers of the equipment do not understand the basic requirements for productive exercise.

    If an airplane fails to fly, its failure is immediately obvious....and the market for such an attempt at flight is zero, so our airports are not cluttered with thousands of unsuccessful airplanes, failures.

But what IS known is that when times are tough it's time to get your "stuff" together. It's time to "get your ducks in a row." It's time to get lean...to tighten up. It's time to get ready....keep reading
