    When people think of High School Football powers they inevitably think of Ohio High School Football. The Cincinnati area has produced some great teams(Roger Bacon, Elder, St.X , Moeller, Princeton and Colerain to name just a few top schools) and some legendary coaches (Bron Bacevich, Gerry Faust, Steve Rasso and Pat Mancuso) but "over the years" the top High School football probably anywhere has been played in Northeastern Ohio....keep reading

    Kim Wood
    Kim Wood&##x27;s Corner&##x3a; A Renewed Appreciation for The Working Man &##x28;2015&##x29;

    "...Recently, I gained a re-newed appreciation of America's working men and an eye opening appreciation of the strength of men who work hard on a daily basis. Last Friday, I helped a friend's son move to a new house... All morning we went up and down stairs loading and unloading pick-up trucks and cars with the small stuff... It was a real workout... actually, it was a truly awesome workout and around two o'clock I was beat on my tail big time so we sat around waiting for the professional movers who were coming for the "big stuff."...keep reading

    Dropping The HAMMER on Nautilus &##x28;1989&##x29;

    [8 pages] ...The mystique of the man, the phenomenon of his machines, brought them together. Gary Jones dropped out of Stetson after two years, was an Orlando city firefighter for nine years and a professional musician, while helping his father build Nautilus in the early 1970s. After a football career at the University of Wisconsin, Kim Wood spent "time on the bum," traveling around the country when he met the Joneses at the 1970 Mr. America Bodybuilding Contest in Culver City, California. There, Arthur unveiled his radical "Blue Monster" weight-lifting machine. He invited Wood to his base of operations in DeLand, Florida......keep reading

  1. The Straight Left and How to Cultivate It (1922)
    Jim Driscoll
    The Straight Left and How to Cultivate It &##x28;1922&##x29;

    "The good old straight left, which one believed to be an almost sacred institution, has fallen upon evil days and in certain circles almost into disrepute.

    That the last-mentioned fate should have befallen it can be somewhat easily understood, when one remembers that the vast majority of straight lefters in these degenerate days are but the feeblest of pushers, and are consequently doomed to defeat every time they have the misfortune to run up against a real fighter."

  1. Strongman Stunts Made Easy (1930)
    George F. Jowett
    Strongman Stunts Made Easy &##x28;1930&##x29;

    [36 pages] ...Hackenschmidt was physically different from all others. His gigantic powers did not begin and end with an exhibition of one or two feats of strength, as is often the case with many strong men. He was overwhelmingly powerful at everything he did. I only wish you could have seen Hackenschmidt in all his physical glory as I saw him. You would feel as I do, because it is given to us all to admire strength and crave it for ourselves. We want it because we know it is the greatest possession a man can have. None of us like to be classified as weaklings or outdone in any physical test, for when all is said and done, we are all, at heart, "show-offs." We love to display muscles for what they mean and demonstrate our strength for the evidence they provide......keep reading

  1. Push Yourself (1941)
    Frank Gilmer
    Push Yourself &##x28;1941&##x29;

    "... The benefit to the physical welfare of our youth resulting from advanced medical science have been greatly offset by the passive entertainment so available these days. Automobiles, radios and movies are pleasant substitutes for active competition in physical contact sports in the average American boy's daily routine. There exists a vital need for increased activity requiring effort.

    Every Boy likes boxing. It is an expression of his born instincts to fight, to hunt and to play. This sport has not been approved generally because there has been a lack of proper instruction and supervision of it...

    The purpose of this little book is to assist and encourage young boxers to learn the technique of boxing; and, more important, to know the value of the fibre toughening effort which the training grind in boxing requires."

  1. John Wood #3: Walking The Clock
    John Wood &##x23;3&##x3a; Walking The Clock

    [3 pages]

    Back in the summer of 2001, I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to train with The God of Wrestling,- Karl Gotch.

    If you recall, Karl was famously known for his bodyweight-oriented workout style. Being a pro-wrestler, Karl had a heavy travel schedule. It was rarely convenient to find a gym, and having to carry around lot of heavy equipment was simply not practical. But Karl knew that he still needed to train so he developed a variety of workouts and training ideas that could be performed on an empty floor (such as a hotel room), and did not require any other equipment.

    During our training session, one of the exercises that Karl had me do was what he called Walking The Clock.

    Here's how to do it....keep reading
